The ACCOUNT Workshop, organised by ATMOSPHERE and NECOS projects will take place during the Latin-America Symposium on Dependable Computing (LADC 2018), which will be held in Foz do Iguaçu (Brazil), from the 8th to the 10th of October. LADC is the main Latin-American event on computer system dependability with technical sessions, workshops, tutorials, fast abstracts, and keynote addresses from international experts in the area and an industrial track. ACCOUNT has been selected as one of the workshops on the LADC agenda, a sign that the subject addressed by NICK is considered as a hot topic for the cloud computing landscape.
So how can LADC attendees participate? Attendees can submit a Paper, exhibit a Poster, or join the discussions taking place in each of the four sessions.
Trusted Cloud Environments to unlock digital markets
In Europe, the transition to a single market for Big Data and Cloud Computing has been one of the main concerns of the European Council since 2013, which has focussed on the digital economy, innovation and services as engines of growth and employment. In Brazil, the IT market is evolving considerably, with a market growth of 4,5% in 2017 (Source: ABES Software)
Although, only one in five (19%) of European SMEs use cloud computing services (Source: Drivers and Barriers of the Cloud Computing in SMEs the Position of the European Union), in Brazil this number is lower, with only 8% of Brazilian SMEs using cloud computing services (Source: Brasscom “TIC 2022 – Estratégia TIC Brasil 2022”) and just 3% that have migrated completely to the cloud (Source: Bestsoft).
To encourage growth of the digital economy, it is not only imperative to increase trust in cloud computing but also to facilitate access for users to online goods and services by creating the right conditions for those services, such as Cloud, Fog, Edge Computing and Data Centre technologies that are heavily supporting ICT market growth .
ACCOUNT Workshop will the playfield to discuss all these topics and find answers for these challenges.
ACCOUNT Workshop: a forum for new results and future visions on cloud computing
The full-day workshop will be a playing field for cloud experts and representatives from academia, government and industries, together to brainstorm on how cloud environments will evolve in the future. Overall, the ACCOUNT workshop aims to:
